The miscues added up for the Albert Lea volleyball team Thursday in a 3-0 loss to Mankato East at home.
The Tigers (1-7, 0-2) lost the first two games 13-25 and 6-25 before coming back in the third game for a 27-29 loss.
“We did not play well at all in the first two games,” Albert Lea head coach Lisa Deyak said. “We made a lot of mental errors, and we had a tremendous amount of unforced errors.”
Deyak said the team played much better in the third game, but still lacked a mental toughness throughout the match.
“There’s no question that mental toughness was an issue,” Deyak said.
“I know we are a good enough team to compete. We have to keep focussing on the mental aspect.”
Kelsey Stolt and Sidney Laurie each had three kills a piece for the Tigers. Stolt and Laurie added four and two blocks, respectively.
Kristine Kelly added nine digs and Laura Guadian had eight for Albert Lea.
The Tigers host United South Central Tuesday.
