Silent auction close to its end at mall

The “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” silent auction being held at Northbridge Mall for the Dirk and Susan DeVries family ends at 6 p.m. Sunday.
In the time that’s left of the auction, people can visit Northbridge Mall between noon and 6 p.m. Saturday and between noon and 6 p.m. Sunday to put in their final bids for dozens of donated items and services. All items must be picked up and paid for between 12 to 4 p.m. Monday.
Money raised will go toward the DeVries family made up of father Dirk, mother Susan, and children April, Derik and Hanna. It’s one of several efforts to raise money for the family chosen by ABC show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” for a new home.
Highlighted items in the auction include three autographed pictures of the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” crew, including one of celebrity Ty Pennington and two of the show’s design crew.
There are tickets to the wrap party at the Green Mill Oct. 7 for the night the DeVries family returns home to their new house.
Other items include one set of adult season tickets to Albert Lea Thunder games and a Thunder sweatshirt, $300 to go toward tuxedo rental at Leuthold’s, two complete car details at Red Carpet Car Wash, along with other artwork and clothes.
There are also items including, three months service through Waste Management, a gift certificate for Morris Furniture, a tool box, Coach sunglasses, a Tiffany lamp, a scrapbook set and a sewing machine, to name a few items.
“There’s some great prices at this point,” said Pam Folkens, of Northbridge Mall. “Come check it out.”
Checks will be sent through Farmers State Bank and can be made out to “Larson/Extreme Makeover.”
