Shanna Eckberg has accepted the position as the administrator of Thorne Crest Retirement Community. Eckberg has been serving as the interim administrator since July of this year.

Eckberg began her employment at Thorne Crest in June of 2001 in the dietary department as a waitress. Through her desire to grow professionally and contribute within an expanded scope of responsibilities within Thorne Crest, she began taking business courses and applying her new-found skills by sharing her time in the business office and the dietary department.

In July of 2004, Eckberg accepted a position at American Baptist Homes of the Midwest home office in the accounting department.

Eckberg continued her studies into 2007, when she completed her studies and passed the Minnesota licensing exam for nursing home administrators. She continued working at the home office of Thorne Crest until she was asked to serve as its interim administrator in July. Eckberg attended Riverland Community College before transferring to an online program through St. Joseph’s College in Maine, where she received her degree in long-term care administration.
