Amanda Leonard serving as tutor

Amanda Leonard of Albert Lea is serving as a psychology tutor for the 2008-09 school year at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.
Leonard is a junior majoring in psychology and history at Northwestern.
Tutors offer support to students in a variety of academic disciplines, including math, science and writing. Tutors are selected by professors for their content knowledge and ability to assist other students with the material. They are also trained by academic support professionals.
In addition to providing one-to-one services, tutors facilitate study groups and test review sessions.

Laura Gaudian has been accepted for admission at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.
She is the daughter of Bryce and Cindy Gaudian of Hayward and a senior at Albert Lea High School.

Rachel Rietsema on college newspaper staff
Rachel Rietsema of Albert Lea is serving as a member of the Beacon newspaper staff for the 2008-09 school year at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.
She is serving as assistant news editor.
Rietsema is a junior majoring in journalism at Northwestern.
The Beacon staff coordinates the writing, publication and distribution of the college’s weekly newspaper, under the direction of English professor Carol Vandermeulen.
