Blizzard storms back to hand Thunder 5-2 loss

The Albert Lea Thunder lost 5-2 to Alexandria Friday at the City Arena.
Danny Wood put the Thunder (1-12-1) on the board first with a shorthanded goal at the 2:28 mark in the first period.
The Blizzard came back to tie the game in the first when Noah Nemgar lit the lamp for Alexandria.
The Blizzard added three goals in the second period to take a 4-1 lead. Derek Kaiser scored 1:52 into the second to give Alexandria a 2-1 lead, but Albert Lea came back to tie the game at 2 when Jeff Slusser scored off an assist from Zach Lewis.
The Blizzard went on to score three unanswered goals to win the game 5-2.
The Thunder had 16 shots in the game and went 0-for-8 on the power play while Alexandria converted twice on the power play and had 30 shots.
Albert Lea played Bismarck Saturday at the City Arena.
