Cow struck twice

Just before 4 a.m. today the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office was informed that there were cattle on the roadway of State Highway 13 near 280th Street, midway between Manchester and Hartland.

A short time later a vehicle driven by Ronald Siblerud, 79, struck one of the cows. He was injured and taken to the Albert Lea Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Then, a few minutes later, the report stated a vehicle driven by Nickolas Adam Hagen, 20, no address listed, struck the dead cow in the roadway. The report added that Hagen was cited for no insurance.

The Albert Lea Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene of this double accident involving one cow.
