The polls closed in Minnesota at 8 p.m. Many national news companies have projected Barack Obama to win Minnesota over John McCain in the race for U.S. president. The Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office also has results of that race.

At the Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office, election officials and members of the media are waiting for the final election judges to return from polling precincts with results. Many of them are in the office with their election equipment. Officials are tallying results. Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer Dennis Distad said there have been no election glitches today in the county.
