Sandager, Forman members of Luther College Aurora

Luther College freshmen Amy Sandager and Kelsey Forman, both of Albert Lea, are members of the 2008-09 Luther College Aurora choral ensemble.

Sandager is the daughter of Chuck and Denise Sandager of Albert Lea. She is majoring in English and psychology at Luther.

Forman is the daughter of Joe and Kim Forman of Albert Lea,. She is majoring in music and management at Luther.

Aurora is one of seven choral ensembles at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. The group is comprised of 100 first-year women, selected each fall by audition.

The ensemble performs on and off-campus for worship services, participates in the annual “Christmas at Luther” concert and Dorian Vocal Festival, and presents a spring concert with the Norsemen, Luther’s choral ensemble for first-year men.

Aurora has participated in Luther performances of major choral/orchestral works, such as Beethoven’s “Mass in C major” and Bach’s “The Passion according to St. John.”

Conducted by Sandra Peter since 1992, Aurora has performed at several regional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. Aurora released its first CD, “Finding a Voice” in 2006.
