The effort was better for the Albert Lea boys’ hockey team Saturday but the result was nearly identical to Thursday’s game against Century as the Tigers fell 7-3 to New Prague in New Prague.
Albert Lea head coach Roy Nystrom said the score wasn’t indicative of the game and that his squad played three good periods.
New Prague’s top line of Tyler Lapic, Schyler Adams and Darrin Lapic scored all seven goals for the Trojans.
Jordan Prescher-Smerud, Tyler Prihoda and Blake Adams scored for the Tigers.
The game was physical with Albert Lea (12-7-0) taking nine penalties, while New Prague (12-6-0) had seven in the game.
The Trojans capitalized on a power-play goal in the second period.
New Prague tallied 28 shots on goal and the Tigers had 24.
Albert Lea travels to Winona Tuesday to face a Winhawks team that defeated the Tigers 6-4 in Albert Lea earlier in the season.
New Prague 7, Albert Lea 3
New Prague 2 1 4 — 7
Albert Lea 1 0 2 — 3
