Does pork spending resemble change?

On Jan. 11, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer interviewed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. With hand raised, she “pledged” publicly “no pork” in the upcoming bill. (You can find the video clip yourself on YouTube.)
Pelosi didn’t just break that pledge, she went all-out to do so. The trillion-dollar stimulus bill pushed by Speaker Pelosi and passed overwhelmingly by the House has more pork spending (according to one source) than any bill in history.
Bill HR 1 contains so much pork spending that Speaker Pelosi included $227 million simply for oversight of the pork barrel projects included in her stimulus bill. (Page 11 of the stimulus bill.)
Is this the kind of change you were expecting?
