A 4-day week would interfere with schedules

In response to the “SW schools look into four-day week” in the Friday, Feb. 20, paper. Going to a four-day week would cut costs but there are other ways to cut the costs. The district could cut back on field trips or jobs that are not that important. A bad thing about a four-day week is how it would interfere with the sports schedules. The time for school on a four day week would be around 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and that would push practices and games back later.
There are some good things about the four-day week also. One would be the times are closer to parents work schedules and then parents wouldn’t have to find someone to watch their kids after school. Another is all the kids would get an extra day off and everybody likes having an extra day off of school or work. So there are good and bad things about a four-day week it just depends on how you look at it.
