Published 8:39 pm Saturday, March 7, 2009

Residents from Albert Lea will travel to Saint Paul to participate in the Southern Minnesota “Protect Minnesota’s Future” Day at the State Capitol, hosted by the Minnesota Environmental Partnership (MEP).  Participants will visit with their elected officials about the need to protect and restore our great outdoors, including our lakes, rivers and streams; forests and wilderness areas; clean air and natural areas.

Participants will board a bus at Northbridge Mall near ShopKo at 8:15 a.m. Monday, March 16, and then make their way to the state Capitol in St. Paul.

This is a chance for area residents to speak with their state legislators about legislation to protect and restore Minnesota’s Great Outdoors, including MEP’s priority proposals: Driving Innovation: Clean Cars for Minnesota; Building Sensible Communities; Safe Mines to Protect Our Water; and Safeguarding Investments for Minnesota’s Future.
