The Alden-Conger softball team fell in the final inning 2-1 Thursday against Martin County West.

Krista Mathiason made the start on the mound for the Knights and was the hard-luck loser, throwing a complete game three-hitter. Mathiason struck out three and walked five.

Alden-Conger had just two hits in the game. Nikki Schultz had a triple and Nadean Krueger had a single.

The Knights face Blooming Prairie Friday in Alden.
