Too many errors and few too many hits added up in a loss for the United South Central baseball team Thursday night against Martin County West in Wells.

The Rebels lost 11-5 and committed five errors in the field.

Zach Koenecke was a force for the Mavericks. He finished 3-for-5 with one RBI.

USC tallied eight hits in the game with Matt Steirnagle collecting two of them. Dustin Dylla drove in two runs while Eric Lackey and Bobby Sims each had a base hit.

The Rebels face Byron Saturday in Wells.
