As part of an ongoing investigation, Freeborn County deputies arrested one male and one female on Wednesday for allegedly selling ecstasy.
The first arrest was of a 20-year-old male. This male was arrested in his home on Washington Avenue in Albert Lea. He was arrested for selling ecstasy to a Drug Task Force informant during December 2008. He is expected to be charged with third-degree sale of meth in Freeborn County District Court today.
The second arrest was of a 19-year-old female. This female was arrested in her home on Frank Hall Drive in Albert Lea. She was arrested for three separate sales of ecstasy to a Drug Task Force informant in January 2009. The first sale occurred in a park zone resulting in a second-degree charge. The second sale resulted in a third-degree sale. The third sale was again in a park zone, which was again a second-degree sale, and also reportedly because of the amount of illegal drugs involved. She is expected to be charged in Freeborn County District Court today.
The report from the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office states this is an ongoing investigation involving a group of younger people in the county selling ecstasy.
