The Lake Mills softball team got the hitting it had been looking for in its previous two games and scored a 5-4 victory over No. 8-ranked Central Springs Thursday in Lake Mills.
The Bulldogs (2-1) rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the fourth inning when Josie Brackey came through with a two-run double that gave Lake Mills a 4-3 lead. Morgan Aalgaard later drove in a run when she reached on an error to make the game 5-3.
Lake Mills tallied eight hits in the game which was twice as many as it had in its previous two games combined.
Brackey also worked out of a bases loaded jam in the seventh inning when the Panthers threatened with no outs in the top of the seventh.
One run scored but Brackey got a fly ball out and two ground outs to end the game and give the Bulldogs a big victory over a ranked rival.
