Children do their part on Earth Day

Earth Day this year was Wednesday, April 22, and is a reminder that each one of us can make a diffference in taking care of our planet. As a mother and grandma, I was never more proud than when I watched my daughter, Kristyn take her small children, Nick 5, Holden 4, and Chloe, 18 months, to “clean up” the road in our community of Glenville that leads to our beach.
She took the initative to teach her kids the importance of “helping out,” and “taking pride” in their community by cleaning up all the garbage along this road. By day’s end they had over 30 bags of trash. They did not do this task because anyone asked them to or because any club or organization was involved. They did this because she wanted to teach her kids we all need to do things that benefit others and our community.
What a wonderful lesson. Thank you, Kristyn, and kids for all your hard work, you did a great job! I’m proud of you.
