Middle innings lift Nicollet over Alden-Conger

The first two innings had the Alden-Conger baseball team in good position Thursday night against Nicollet in Alden, but the Raiders came on late to win 18-8 against the Knights.
Alden-Conger held a 3-1 lead after two innings, but Nicollet came back for six runs in the third and four in the fourth to take an 11-4 lead.
The Knights got as close as 13-8 after the fifth, but the Raiders slammed the door in the seventh with five runs.
Brad Ferree went 3-for-4 with a triple and Spencer Niebuhr continued to plate runs as he went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
“We were good the first three innings, but it was little things again,” said Alden-Conger head coach Faron Bremseth. “Little things ate us alive again.”
