MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Former North Dakota State star and Minnesota native Ben Woodside is working out for NBA teams.
Woodside was at Target Center on Tuesday to show his skills for the Timberwolves and representatives from several other clubs. The 5-foot-11 point guard was in a group of six players who went through drills and scrimmaged with each other while scouts and front office executives from around the league watched.
Woodside led the Bison to their first NCAA tournament appearance in March. He says his friends and family can’t believe a guy from Albert Lea has a chance to play professionally.
Woodside says he’s not expecting to be drafted, but he’s confident his ability to shoot, pass, move off the dribble and play off the pick-and-roll can draw the interest of an NBA team.
