Albert Lea VFW starter Cole Sorenson has quickly turned into a dominant pitcher this summer.

Post 447 lost two quality starters from last year’s squad in Colby Strilaeff and Jordan Cooper, but Sorenson has asserted himself as a capable pitcher and his start Wednesday in Rochester was further evidence.

Sorenson threw his third shutout of the season in a 2-0 win against the Rockets.

Sorenson allowed just two hits and struck out eight while not allowing a walk.

J.T. Bellrichard came through in the fifth and seventh inning with a two-out RBI single in each inning to help lift Albert Lea to victory.
