“Once Upon A Time” was the theme for the recent Salem mother-child brunch.

The welcome was given by WELCA President Judy Dilling, who also led the table prayer. The brunch was served by Margaret Haupt Circle. A tribute to mothers was given by Pam Hoverson. Her daughter, Sarah Hoverson, read a poem titled “Imagination,” which she had written.

The program was given by Pauline Olson and Marianne DePoppe, who are members of the Story Lady Doll & Toy Museum. DePoppe recited “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” and Olson read “Madeline.”

Many of those present took part in “show and tell” with a favorite doll.

The decorating committee placed a unique doll at each table place setting, which was a keepsake for each guest to take home.

The closing hymn was “I Love to Tell the Story,” with Bekah Sousa at the piano.

The committee for the event included Helen Weik, Kathy DePoppe and Marianne DePoppe.
