Funeral services for Dwain Ernest Staude, 72, of rural Alden, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ryan Martens will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors accorded by area veterans organizations. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Dwain died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Dwain Ernest Staude was born on Aug. 22, 1937, to Ervin and Adela (Schuett) Staude in Rome, Wis. He grew up in Rome and worked on the family farm as a young man. Dwain entered the United States Navy and served from 1957- 1963. On May 12, 1962, Dwain was married to Marilyn Ballman in Sullivan, Wis. After his discharge, he worked for a short time at Schweiger Furniture. Then, Dwain began driving a truck for various companies and continued until the present time. He was currently driving for Viking Land Transportation in New Ulm. On Jan. 26, 1991, he married Shari Ann Bryand in Albert Lea. Dwain was a member of the Alden American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling out, driving his truck and he was a diehard Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include wife, Shari, of Alden; children: Bob of Johnson’s Creek, Wis., Tim of Northwood, Iowa, and Mike of Milwaukee, Wis.; grandchildren: Travis and Krista Staude both of Arizona; step children, Sara (Michael) Anderson, John (Tammy) Bryand, Jr., Joshua (Angie) Bryand, all of Albert Lea; step grandchildren: Tony Brandt, Mariah Bryand, Jesse Bryand, Jordan Bryand, Paris Bryand and Chase Talamantes, all of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters: Janet (Elroy) Dorn, Gerald (Pattie) Staude, Sharon (Russell) Kutz, Kenneth(Jane) Staude, Dennis (Betty) Staude, Sandra Eckhardt, Larry (Joy) Staude, Eugene (Donna) Staude, Joyce Schneider, Shirley (Leon) Dorn, all of Wisconsin, and JoAnn (Paul) Goeglein of Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.
Dwain was preceded in death by parents; sister, Betty; brother, Floyd; and mother-in-law, Betty Tufte.
