David Frydenlund, 85

Funeral service for David Walter Frydenlund of Lake Mills, Iowa, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Assemblies of God Church. The Rev. Lee Freshour will officiate. Interment will be in the Hayward Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Military honors will be accorded.
David died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea. He was 85 years old.
David was born in Hayward on Jan. 8, 1924, the son of John and Hildegard (Magelssen) Frydenlund. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1942 and worked until he was drafted. He served his country in the Army during World War II. When he was discharged he returned home and attended Mankato State College with a degree in electronics. He married Roselyn Flamme on Dec. 8, 1946. He opened one of the first radio and television stores in Albert Lea and then opened a store in Rochester. He worked for IBM in Rochester until 1972. He later farmed in Lanesboro and managed a mobile home park in Rochester until retiring in 1986. He was an active member of the Assemblies of God Church. David was a handyman doing many projects, including building four homes.
David is survived by his three children: Mark (Lucille) Frydenlund of Phoenix, Ariz., Kent (Alice) Frydenlund of Richland Center, Wis., and Jim (Cindy) Frydenlund of Lake Mills, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; sister, Ann Dockwell of Albert Lea; brother, Robert Frydenlund of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roselyn; brothers: Joel, Freeman and Harold.
