“Merchant of Venice” is a story of revenge, justice and mistaken identity involving a greedy moneylender, Shylock, and his clients, Antonio and Bassanio.
Jeremy Fiebig, assistant professor of theatre and director of the production, said direction of the play is employing some unique practices: actors have been allowed to choose their own costumes and the theatre has employed a green set comprised mostly of reused materials. Shakespeare’s original practices enable a more interactive performance not typical of other productions.
