Lawrence Westbrook added 12 for the Gophers, winners of five straight. Devoe Joseph had 11, and Damian Johnson, Al Nolen and Paul Carter had 10 each.

Garrett Callahan had 25 points, including six 3-pointers, for the Jackrabbits (5-8), who lost for the third time in four games overall, and for the fifth straight year at Minnesota. Nate Wolters had 14 points.

Minnesota (9-3) is averaging 92.6 points per game during its winning streak.

“The real season starts now,” Westbrook said. “What we did before doesn’t really matter. The level of competition is going to pick up.”

After beating Butler and losing to Portland and Texas A&M in a Thanksgiving tournament, then losing by five at Miami (Fla.) on Dec. 3, Minnesota has feasted on a quintet of cream puffs. The Gophers have beaten Brown, Morgan State, St. Joseph’s, Northern Illinois and South Dakota State by an average of 32 points.
