Iowa man arrested on multiple charges

A 32-year-old Northwood, Iowa, man was arrested over the weekend for child endangerment, assault on a police officer, interference with official acts and misuse of 911 communications.
According to a news release from the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the man, James Winters Jr., at about 8:10 p.m. Satuday. A Northwood Police officer and a Worth County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to Winters’ residence.
The release states members of the Special Operations Group of the North Central Iowa Task Force were called to the scene. Winters was taken into custody and transported to the Worth County Jail.
Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
The Northwood Police Department and Worth County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by the Manly Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team, Special Operations Group of the North Central Iowa Task Force, Mason City Fire Department, Worth County Sheriff’s Reserve, Northwood Rescue and Worth/Mitchell County EMA.
