Martin County West’s Alyssa Taylor scored 29 points to lead the Mavericks past the Alden-Conger girls’ basketball team 60-31 Friday in Sherburn.

Knights head coach Gary Newman said Taylor, a 6-foot-1 junior, could do it all on the court and she proved it with her scoring outburst.

Alden-Conger (5-8, 2-5 Valley) was led by Katie Hallman, who scored 13 points.

Newman said rebounding hurt the Knights once again as Martin County West took advantage of the glass for second and third opportunities.

Alden-Conger faces a busy week with four games scheduled next week beginning with Maple River Monday in Alden.
