When the Albert Lea girls’ basketball team struggled offensively Thursday in Mankato against Mankato West, senior Abbey Arends turned it up a notch to help lead the Tigers to a 47-36 victory.

Arends scored a game-high 30 points on 7 of 15 shooting from the field and went 13 of 14 from the free throw line as Albert Lea (8-10, 6-6) snapped a two-game losing streak.

“That’s putting a team on your shoulders when they’re struggling offensively,” said Tigers head coach Sean Gillam.
