The Freeborn County Jaycees hosted the first chili cookoff at The Big Freeze this year. More than 80 people came through the line to sample the various chilis. Each participant was encouraged to place a vote for their favorite chili.

After the votes were tallied the grand prize winner of the cookoff was Neil Belshan of American Bank.
