Marvyl Anderson, 84

The funeral service for Marvyl L. Anderson of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church.
Marvyl died on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 84.
Marvyl was born on Sept. 4, 1925, in Albert Lea the daughter of Carl Nels and Alice Mae (Jensen) Anderson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1943 and Naeve Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. Marvyl was employed at Naeve Hospital for 48 years before retiring on July 1, 1995. She spent all of her years working in O.B. and loved every little miracle that was born. Marvyl was honored to have been selected as an RN Nurse of the Year at Naeve Hospital.
She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, and had been a member of the Red Cross, Minnesota Nurses Association, Naeve Hospital Alumnae and Nurses Club and Freeborn County Humane Society.
Marvyl enjoyed knitting, her flower garden, outside birds, reading, watching television and being with friends. She was an avid follower of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed travel, especially to Branson, Alaska and the northeastern states. Marvyl always had a pet and she was a great lover and protector of animals. Her special pet friends included Tabby, Gigi, Heidi and Beau. Her friends said if they were reborn, they would like to come back as one of Marvyl’s pets.
She is survived by her family, who where so precious to her: nephews: Craig Boelke and his wife Diane, Brian Boelke and his wife Dawn; two great-nephews: Chad Boelke and his wife Rosie and their daughters Kelsey, Alexis and Regan, and Troy Boelke; great-niece, Heather Boelke.
Marvyl was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alice; her sisters: Erliss Ivan Anderson, Mavis Arlene McAllister and Luzetta Mae Boelke; brothers-in-law: Edward McAllister and Roger Boelke.
