Nebraska men arrested in A.L. for alleged cocaine sale

Two men were arrested on Thursday at Trail’s Travel Center in a drug bust.
The South Central Drug Investigation Unit arrested a 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old man for the alleged sale of cocaine to an informant about noon Thursday. The truck stop is at at 820 Happy Trails Lane.
According to the police report, the informant met with the two men, who came to Albert Lea from Nebraska. The two men then allegedly went to their car and “cut into the spare tire” and pulled out six ounces of cocaine. The informant then reportedly paid one of the suspects $6,700 of documented cash and received the six ounces of cocaine.
According to the report, the $6,700 was found in the suspect’s car.
Also credited in the arrest were the South Eastern Drug Task Force, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Albert Lea Police Department.
Both Nebraska men are scheduled to appear in Freeborn County District Court. The report did not say which city in Nebraska they came from.
