LaVonne Morgan, 83

Funeral services for LaVonne E. Morgan of Hayward will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in the Hayward Cemetery.
Mrs. Morgan died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 83 years of age.
LaVonne was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Solumn) Edwin. She was a high school graduate and on Dec. 6, 1945, was united in marriage to Elmer Morgan in San Francisco, Calif. Together they made their home in Albert Lea, Hartland, Nevis and in Hayward since 1988.
LaVonne was baptized in the Baptist faith and was a homemaker taking care of her six children. She enjoyed going on long walks, the outdoors, fishing for northern, reading and working puzzles. LaVonne had a great sense of humor, a strong will and loved playing Yahtzee with her family.
She is survived by her husband Elmer of Hayward; children: Mike (Debbie) Morgan of Panama City, Fla., Carol Handris of West Hills, Calif., Larry (Debbie) Morgan of Hartland, Richard Morgan of Briclyn, Barb Schoen of Albert Lea, and Gary Morgan of Hayward. There are 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters surviving include: Howie (Jane) Edwin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Don (Fern) Edwin of Albert Lea, Janice Dempewolf of Albert Lea and Marlyss (Sid) Johnson of Wells.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Casimer Schultz; son-in-law, James Schoen; and sisters: Lorraine Teske, Elaine Doyle, Deloris Carlsen, Vema Nelson and Ramona Edwin.
