1988 — An article featured Ben Pense of Geneva and his 20 miniature Shetland ponies.
1968 — The entertainment at the Freeborn County Fair would include Tommy Cash, Pat McKinney, Marvin Rainwater, Joie Chitwood’s (Automobile) Thrill Show and the Jaycee Demolition Derby.
1938 — A request by the Albert Lea school board to take over Central Park for conversion into a parking lot was rejected by local residents and the city council.
