Here are highlights in history for July 28, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1989 — A helicopter based in Le Sueur was being used in the Wells area to spray area fields.
1979 — A 12-inch black and white television set was on sale at the Montgomery Ward store in the Skyline Mall for just $99.88.
1969 — The Albert Lea City Council approved a rezoning request by Marvin Strolberg and David Hagen to establish a mobile home park in the Sondergard Addition.
