Here are highlights in history for July 29, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — A Tribune article featured a part of Albert Lea once known as Trailer City. This collection of mobile homes was located on Albert Lea’s west side just to the east of Hill’s Gardens next to what’s now County Road 46 just after World War II.
1980 — Mike Krikava of Glenville was on a tour of China with the University of Minnesota Concert Band ensemble.
1960 — Ground-breaking ceremonies were held for Albert Lea’s St. John’s Lutheran Home on the city’s west side.
