Boy with local connection jumps in nat’l event.

Trevor Edlund, 13-year-old grandson of Keith and Sandra Olson of Glenville, and member of the St. Paul Ski Club, competed in the U.S. Nationals for ski jumping held in Park City, Utah, the weekend of July 30.
He competed against the top ski jumpers from all over the United States, including those that were members of this past Winter Olympics team.
On the 90 meter ski jump, Trevor had a first competition jump of 88.1 meters (289 feet) not making the cut for a second jump, but still finishing in three-way-tie for 28th place.
On the 120M ski jump, his first competition jump was 98.10 meters (321 feet,) which qualified him for the 2nd round of competition making him the youngest competitor on the hill. On Trevor’s second jump, he went 80.5 meters (264 feet), finishing in 23rd place.
