Here are highlights in history for Aug. 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1984 — The American Legion State Baseball Tournament was held at Albert Lea’s Hayek Field.

1974 — The resignation of President Richard Nixon was the topic of a Tribune editorial. It ended with this comment: “We must now unite behind our new President (Gerald Ford) as he tries to lead our nation through the difficult days ahead.”
