Albert Lea Farmers Market

The Albert Lea Farmers Market will be celebrating its 30th year of providing locally grown produce to customers. A celebration will be Saturday during regular market hours, 9 a.m. to noon. Cake, ice cream and coffee will be served. Dunnell Lenort will be back at the market again from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to provide entertainment, by singing a variety of songs. Sign-up for a drawing as well.
The farmers market in Albert Lea has grown and evolved over the last 30 years. It began in the Morin Park area, in connection with Colonel Albert Lea Days. From there, it moved into the Sears parking lot, then went to the Shopko parking lot, then the Walmart lot in the old Skyline Mall. In 2002 it moved to the present down-town location. This lot provides a safe traffic-free area for vendors to set up and sell, has close customer parking, provides a scenic view of Fountain Lake, and is centrally located in the downtown area. For additional customer parking, Albert Lea Medical Center has given permission for customers to use its lot just across the street from the market on Saturday mornings.
