Funeral service for Daniel P. Callahan, 53, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of St. Theodore. Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Daniel died on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran home.
Daniel Paul Callahan was born on Aug. 15, 1957, in Albert Lea, the son of James and Beverly (Haugrud) Callahan. He grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1975. He worked various jobs in the area throughout his lifetime. Daniel was a member of St. Theodore’s Church. He enjoyed playing games, especially dominos, fishing, golfing, watching television, and rooting for the Twins and Vikings. Daniel was very proud of his Irish heritage and loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
Survivors include his son Zach; special friend, Marge Sletten; sister, Belinda (Jim) Fischer; brothers: Dennis and his special friend Theresa Harriman of Albert Lea, John (Karen) Callahan of Waseca, Tim Callahan of Detroit Lakes, Tom Callahan of Albert Lea, and Jim Callahan of Albert Lea; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jeffrey Callahan; and by his grandparents.
