The lawyer of suspended Albert Lea City Manager Jim Norman has requested copies of all the agreements between the city and Tiger Hills Development Corporation, along with the status of payments currently owned by the developers.
Lawyer Steven T. Rizzi Jr. of Adams, Rizzi & Sween in Austin, said the request is simply a part of representing Norman, who faces allegations of misusing the city-issued credit card for personal expenses.
“It’s to just make sure he’s not being treated any differently than anyone else,” Rizzi said.
As of Friday, the city had returned a portion of documentation from one file and stated staff will look through other files regarding additional documents.
Lawyers in the case also are studying whether Norman was treated differently than other city employees who were alleged to misuse the city credit card. Norman appears in court Wednesday.
