Here are highlights in history for Sept. 10, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — The Albert Lea City Council appointed Orrion Roisen to be the city’s new fire chief. Roisen had been with the Albert Lea Fire Department for 25 years and would replace Everett Grinolds who had retired.
1975 — The Cardinal Food Stores in the Albert Lea area, according to a Tribune ad, were: Helland’s Superette of Alden, Nick’s Grocery in Hayward, Anderson’s Grocery of Freeborn and Sibilrud’s Grocery of Hartland.
1935 — Customers of the Skinner-Chamberlain Department Store on South Broadway Avenue were being given S & H Green Stamps with their purchases.
