I want to publicly thank Rep. Robin Brown for her consistent support of K-12 public education. As a member of the House Education Finance committee, Rep. Brown has voted in support of Q-Comp, the performance pay program initiated by Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Rep. Robin Brown protected stable funding for public education by opposing any cuts and she also voted to maintain high certification standards for teachers. There is no shortage of certified and qualified public school teachers in Minnesota.
I want our doctors, nurses, dentists and teachers to continue to be certified and qualified. There is no desire or need to hire a non-certified teacher. Our students deserve to be taught by certified and licensed teachers just as patients deserve to be treated by certified and licensed doctors, dentists, and nurses.
Since 40 percent of the state budget is invested on public education, it is important to elect state representatives that understand school finance. Rep. Robin Brown has drafted new legislation that will create a funding formula that is BEST for Minnesota: Balanced, Equitable, Simplified and Targeted.
Now is the time to implement a new school formula that will provide equal funding for all Minnesota students regardless of their zip code.
Rep. Robin Brown has the legislative experience to work across party lines in a positive manner to create an equitable funding formula for Minnesota.
Robin Brown is the best choice to represent Freeborn and Mower counties in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
