Here are highlights in history for Oct. 4, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1983 — Rusco windows and doors were available at Albert Lea Aluminum Steel & Vinyl, 710 Amelia Place, according to an advertisement.
1973 — A simulated train-bus crash on Clark Street was used to train personnel of Freeborn County Civil Defense, Naeve Hospital, Albert Lea fire and police departments and other emergency agencies.
1943 — Albert Lea was featured in the Oct. 4 issue of Time Magazine with an article based on the city’s study regarding economic prospects after the end of World War II.
