Here are highlights in history for Oct. 11, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1983 — New officers at Senior Tower, 905 Maplehill Drive, were: Lillian Flaskerud, president; Myrtle Peterson, vice president; Esther Severson, secretary; and Pete Larsen, treasurer.
1973 — Warren Lenz had several large pumpkins he was growing on a farm north of Upper Twin Lake. The largest weighted 109 pounds.
1943 — The Albert Lea High School Tigers defeated the Northfield High School team with a score of 26-0 in a game played on the Carlton College Field.
