Here are highlights in history for Oct., 14, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — Carol Colstrup was presented with a plaque and flowers for her 25 years of participation in the Albert Lea Figure Skating Club.
1976 — Small trees were being planted on both sides of Albert Lea’s Broadway Avenue as part of a beautification project.
1956 — A new addition was dedicated at Oakwood School, located near the corner of Lakewood Boulevard and Wedge Street.
