Here are highlights in history for Oct. 20, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1991 — Gary Hunnicut of Geneva, an employee of the Albert Lea Post Office, was serving as the temporary postmaster in Clarks Grove. He replaced Bruce Longren who was transferred to Minneopa.
1981 — Freeborn County Extension Director Eldon Senske said farmers were 10 days to two weeks behind schedule with crop harvesting because of wet weather conditions.
1971 — The Freeborn County Bar Association was recommending that two judges be a part of the county’s new court system.
