Here are highlights in history for Nov. 18, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1984 — Vibration testing for possible underground oil deposits were being conducted in the Hollandale, Maple Island and Clarks Grove area by a Texas firm.

1974 — Rep. Henry Savelkoul of Albert Lea was elected to serve as minority leader for the Republicans in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
