1984 — Vibration testing for possible underground oil deposits were being conducted in the Hollandale, Maple Island and Clarks Grove area by a Texas firm.

1974 — Rep. Henry Savelkoul of Albert Lea was elected to serve as minority leader for the Republicans in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

1964 — Edwin B. Peterson of Oakland was re-elected president of the Freeborn County Farm Bureau.
