Here are highlights in history for Nov. 9, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1986 — Spurgeon’s held a grand opening at their new store in the Skyline Mall. This new location would have 11,000 square feet and several new departments.

1976 — The Albert Lea City Council was considering an ordinance regarding operations and personnel at local massage parlors.

1966 — Keith Bjerke, Route 1, Albert Lea, was the county’s voting delegate at the annual Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation convention.
