Ring in the new year with a trip for two to Las Vegas.

This is the main prize at Holiday Lanes’ Bowling New Year’s Eve party.

While only a limited number of tickets are being sold to win the trip, this just makes the chances of winning even better.

Other prizes and party favors will add to the fun, too.

The ticket price to get into the event is $40 per person, which will include unlimited bowling, shoe rental, an open bar and free appetizers.

Enjoy bowling with the alley’s new laser light show and music videos on the big screen TVs.

The doors open at 8 p.m. for lane assignments and festivities are from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Tickets will be sold in advance at Holiday Lanes.

Below is a list of additional New Year’s and weekend events around the area:

Friday

• It’s the final day for the Festival of Trees, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Albert Lea Art Center. The Albert Lea Art Center is located at 224 S. Broadway Ave., Albert Lea.

• Comedy Live is hosting a show at the Leo Carey American Legion Post 56 in Albert Lea. Headlining is Dwight York, a regular on the “Bob & Tom Show.” Preshow music by Josh Elwood begins at 7:30 p.m. and the comedy show begins at 8 p.m., also featuring emcee Mike Polis and the comedy of Joe Polis and Jeff Polis. Tickets are available in advance for $15 and at the door for $20.

• The Geneva Bar and Grille will hold a New Year’s Eve party with drink and food specials along with the entertainment of Kat Blue from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

• George’s of Geneva will include six dinner specials with champagne and entertainment at 9 p.m. by “Eagle Wings.”

• Wedgewood Cove New Year’s Eve “The Ball Drops” will include dinner followed by a dance. Dinner will be served from 5 to 8:30 p.m. For $25, choose from ribeye, baked walleye, chicken florentine or coconut shrimp. The dance starts at 9 p.m. with music by Mega Force. Party hats, noisemakers and light hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Attend the dance only for $5 per person. Call 507-373-2007 to make reservations.

• TB3’s Bar and Grill in Freeborn presents music by “In the Fields” from 9 p.m. to close. There’s no cover charge, and sober rides home are available.

• The Eagles Club in Albert Lea will host a New Year’s Eve party from 8 p.m. to midnight. A dinner of steak, shrimp and chicken strips will be followed by a dance featuring the music of “Full House.”

• Enjoy Super Bingo at the Union Center, 1403 Highway 13 North, Albert Lea. The doors open at 6 p.m. and early Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.

• Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Albert Lea Moose Lodge with a dinner special from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by the entertainment of Roger Murphy from 7 p.m. to close.

• Enjoy a New Year’s Party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at The Office in Glenville.

• 6th Annual Winter Meltdown Youth Conference through Jan. 2. at Grace Christian Church. The conference is for youth junior high age and older.

Saturday

• Celebrate New Year’s Day at the Albert lea Moose Lodge No. 1703 with the entertainment of Roger Murphy from noon to 4 p.m. followed by Mega Force from 4 p.m. to close.

• The Geneva Bar and Grille will hold a New Year’s party with a pheasant hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then a chili cook-off starting at 2 p.m.
