Judge to retire after more than 20 years

Freeborn County District Court Judge John A. Chesterman will retire Jan. 18, 2011, after 20 1/2 years of service.

There will be a retirement celebration Jan. 18 from 2 to 3 p.m. for people who would like to wish Chesterman good luck in his retirement.

Albert Lea Medical Center announces holiday hours

In observance of the holidays, Albert Lea Medical Center – part of Mayo Health System announces the following facilities will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1:

Same Day Clinic

Eye Services and Vision Plus

Alden Clinic

HealthReach

Kiester Clinic

Lake Mills Clinic

New Richland Clinic

Wells Clinic

Eye Services and Vision Plus will close at 5 p.m., Dec. 23. The outpatient pharmacy, located on the first floor of the medical center, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 24; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 25; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 31; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 1, 2011.

Express Care, located within Albert Lea’s Hy-Vee, will be open 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 31. It will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2011.

ALMC’s Urgent Care, located on the first floor of the hospital, is open 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. weekends and holidays. As always, emergency room services at ALMC are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Reality show to hold auditions in Minneapolis

NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” is coming to Minneapolis to hold open auditions. Auditions are being held 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 22 and 23, 2011, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Ave. S., Minneapolis.
